Hockey India has launched its Logo very recently

Hockey India has revealed its logo in a function in New Delhi. The logo consists of 24 hockey sticks outlining a wheel shape, been inspired by Ashoka Chakra of the Indian National Flag. Along with the senior official and Indian players, the famous personalities who have attended the logo launching ceremony were Hockey India president A.K. Mattoo, secretary general Mohammad Aslam, senior vice-president Vidya Stokes, chief coach Jose Brasa, coach Harendra Singh and skipper Sandeep Singh. Hockey India came into existence after International Hockey Federation (IHF) threatened to remove 2010 World Cup from India if they did not dissolve men's and women's hockey associations into a single governing body before the World Cup. Hockey India has been recognized by IHF. Thus the launching ceremony was a part of whole process as they would host the World Cup in 2010. Meanwhile, Indian hockey team missed their flight to England as the bus of Sports Authority of India (SAI) arrived late to pick them due to which they were not able to reach airport at right time.
